Some Key Packing Tips for Your Moving Day

The best moving tip? Saving HUGE money with these moving supply vendors.

With the crazy amount of moving tips out there, it can be somewhat overwhelming to plan a move nowadays.  What makes it easier?  How about boiling down all those packing tips to just a few key points to get you on your way to a successful move…

  1. Quality packing supplies – The number one packing tip starts from the outside in.  You’ll need high quality packing boxes and supplies to properly protect your possessions during your move.  Don’t skimp on this one, or you may be dealing with broken valuables at your new home.
  2. Don’t overpack – As tempting as it may be to try to save time by overloading your boxes, try to hold back.  Your move is likely to take all day no matter what, so please don’t risk damaging your possessions or your back.
  3. Reputable movers – As important as the first two tips are, they probably aren’t worth squat if you don’t research reputable movers for your big day.  This means finding movers who are careful and conscientious and willing to go that extra mile to protect your belongings.

Of course, it really all starts with the packing supplies.  Search all over and you’ll find quality packing supplies listed among the top packing tips on most sites.  Check out the reputable online retailers highlighted on our main page for some great deals on boxes and supplies!

Strong Packing Boxes Can Also Be Cheap

There are a lot of products out there that the average consumer assumes are either high quality or cheap.  Nowadays, it seems almost impossible to find that unique product that has both characteristics.  Well, when it comes to strong packing boxes, that is a potentially costly assumption to make…

Strong Packing Boxes

The allure or strong packing boxes is obvious, right?  You don’t want your boxes to fall apart halfway through your move.  You also would prefer that they don’t crush each other while riding in the back of the moving truck.  This is a pretty basic assumption during a move and should be guaranteed to everyone who buys packing boxes.  You’d be surprised how many weak imitators are out there in the moving box industry, though.  Of course, that doesn’t mean you have to spend like crazy for strength.

Cheap Packing Boxes

Ok, so where does one go to find these mythical cheap and strong packing boxes?  Well, you’ve seen the prices at the van rental place and the department store, so you know it’s not there.  And your days of moving your stuff in old, wet grocery boxes is (hopefully) over.  Why not try checking out the various online packing box retailers highlighted on our main page.  These vendors are highly reputable and deliver high quality products at a completely unbeatable price (especially when a best price guarantee is involved).

Finding strong packing boxes was never so easy with the help of online box retailers!

Getting Organized With Wardrobe Storage Boxes

Wardrobe Storage Boxes

You might have heard of wardrobe storage boxes before from your friends and family.  Heck, you might have even used them in a recent move.  If you have any experience with these boxes at all, you know they are some of the easiest and handiest boxes you’ll ever come across.  What you may not have thought of yet, is just how easy it would be to organize a messy closet with wardrobe boxes.

Quality Wardrobe Boxes

First things first, everything you read here is based on the assumption you are planning to utilize wardrobe storage boxes of high quality.  Not only will storage ideas probably not work with used or low quality wardrobe boxes, but you might not even be able to pull off an average move with them.  People are so often lulled into the idea of a “great deal” on cheap boxes that they forget the importance of durability.  Having a box collapse is a bad day no matter if you’re moving or looking for long-term storage options.

Wardrobe Storage Boxes

The word “storage” is not always associated with wardrobe boxes, since it implies a longer-term use than most people are accustomed to.  Well, as we addressed earlier, wardrobe storage boxes would in fact be perfect for just such a use.  Consider the wildly unorganized closet in the picture above.  The look on the woman’s face is obviously not a happy one.  But, imagine how much happier she would be if all the off-season clothing she own were simply tucked away in a durable wardrobe box.  Here, they’ll sit quietly until the seasons change and they’re ready to be rotated into the closet once more.

Easy Accessibility

You may think this whole wardrobe box idea is sounding pretty good right about now.  But wait, there’s more!  Ok, maybe that sounded a little too infomercialish, but the truth is, wardrobe storage boxes not only offer you safe and dependable long-term storage of whatever clothing you don’t need to see for a few months, but they also provide you with easy accessibility.  Those of us in the northern states know a thing or two about putting away the long sleeves and jeans too early.  If you were to make the same mistake with your clothes, these boxes make it easy to correct your error and switch everything back.  With a heavy duty hanging bar and an easy open top, you should be able to easily get at your clothes whenever you need them.

Tame the clutter monster in your closet with a few wardrobe storage boxes.  You’ll be happy you did.

Three Things to do With Wardrobe Boxes

Wardrobe Boxes

So, you’ve made your peace with purchasing a few wardrobe boxes for your upcoming move.  That’s an important first step, and you’ll be thanking yourself for it when you see how easy it is to pack up and safely move our closet clothes.  There are a variety of tips for using wardrobe boxes, most of which are personal preference and are learned from experience.  There are a few key tips that will help make your use of the wardrobe boxes more enjoyable, three of which are listed here…

1. Early and Often

Now that you’ve got your wardrobe boxes, hopefully you’ve got at least a little bit of time before your move.  If so, don’t just sit there, start loading those boxes.  Remember, there’re plenty of outfits in your closet that you won’t even wear before your move.  Start with those.  If you’re using multiple wardrobe boxes, be sure to label them clearly so they can be delivered into the correct bedroom when you arrive.  Remember, clothes are often disregarded during the planning of a move, but they can take a significant portion of time and energy during packing.  You can minimize this by getting a jump on things with your new wardrobe boxes.

2. Don’t Overpack

High quality wardrobe boxes are durable and strong, so I’m not worried about them.  The overpacking warning is more for you and your movers.  Remember, you have to transport these boxes from your house to the truck and back into your new house.  Stairs obviously complicate the issue.  Overloaded wardrobe boxes can be a hazard for those carrying them, as well as to the rest of your items on a bumpy ride in the moving van.  Do yourself a favor by rounding up to the next wardrobe box when you’re in doubt.

3. Use Them Post-Move

Just because your move is over doesn’t mean your wardrobe boxes have finished their duties.  Now that you’ve gotten a fresh look at the total contents of your closet, maybe you’ve spied a few outfits that are past their prime…come on, be honest.  How about loading up a wardrobe box for a garage sale or a quick trip to the local Goodwill (be sure to keep the box).  Or maybe you just have too much in your closet and you’d like to temporarily store some seasonal outfits elsewhere.  Wardrobe boxes are plenty durable for long-term storage and offer convenient access to your clothing when the need arises.

You’ve taken the important step of outfitting yourself with some wardrobe boxes for your move, now make sure to use them to their fullest.

How My Being OC Helped Our Move

Packing Tips

Packing Tips

I am extremely OC (Obsessive compulsive). I want everything in order, detailed, and I don’t even want my toys moved. I know at what angle I left them and I will notice the slightest change if somebody moved them. And I don’t like people touching the windows of my car, I hate those stubborn hand prints.

I know… it’s pretty bad and some of my friends think that I’m sick or something, and I know that I get in their nerves one way or another, but what can I do? That’s me.

Anyway, I’m not supposed to talk about my bad habits here so I’ll move on. We recently moved to a beautiful house, one that I had built in great detail, and I must say that my being OC was the key to our successful move. I read tons of moving and packing tips and being the good (OC) person that I am, I made them like a bible and followed all the intelligent advices to the letter.

The hardest thing to do, at least for me, when getting ready to move is packing. Just looking at everything that needs to be packed will make you cry. But it has to be done so here’s a very good thing to do. Before touching anything, draw up a plan on how you’ll go about packing. Decide on which items you’ll pack first and make a checklist. Get rid of items that you don’t use as they’ll just use up precious space. Once you have a plan, start packing.

It is also wise to label the boxes. Make the labels big and colorful if you can. What I did is color code all the boxes so I can easily distinguish which goes where. The kitchen boxes were marked green, bedroom boxes were marked red, blue, and yellow since there are 3 of us in the family, living room boxes were marked orange, and so on… I know you get what I mean. This made organizing a breeze when we arrived at the new house.

I’m not saying that you become obsessive compulsive but being organized and detail oriented sure helps when moving. You can read all packing tips and tricks that you find but they’ll be useless if you don’t have the discipline to implement them. So if you’re planning on moving, take the packing tips that you just read to heart and start implementing them. It made me love moving. I think I wanna move again. Yeah, I’ll probably move so I can pack again. :)

Wardrobe Boxes for Your Rummage Sale

Wardrobe Boxes

You have a bunch of clothes in your closet that you know are destined for next year’s rummage sale rack, yet you have nowhere else to put them.  You certainly don’t want to stack them in the basement or box them up into moving boxes, since you want to maintain their sellable condition.  You may have even already tried the hand-me-down route, only to be laughed out of the room by your kids (it’s ok, it happens).  Fortunately, you can store these clothes in a convenient and effective matter while also having the added bonus of a unique presentation method for your rummage sale.

Wardrobe boxes provide an efficient means to store your unused hanging clothes for long period of time.  The best wardrobe boxes include heavy duty metal hanger bars and test stronger than the industry standard, thanks to double wall construction.  These boxes are large (24″x24″x40″) and have the durability to stand up to long-term storage.  They will help you free up a large amount of valuable closet space, allowing you to pack away your unused clothing and forget about it until the time comes to setup the rummage sale.

The convenient shape of wardrobe boxes, which allows you to easily pack and unpack your clothing, can also be a unique and effective presentation for your sale.  The people browsing your rummage sale have probably been to quite a few that day, everyone featuring the same boring closet bar stuff with hanging clothes of various sizes and ages.  Your sale, on the other hand, can feature clothes neatly hung in separate wardrobe boxes, which you also have the option to categorize based on size or season of clothing.

Take a load of your mind (and out of your closet) and give your rummage sale a unique and appealing look with large durable wardrobe boxes.

Wardrobe Boxes

Well, you went and did it again. You rode the rollercoaster of high offseason hopes for your favorite sports team and once again they let you down.   You swore you wouldn’t get wrapped up in the hype but now it’s just too painful to look into your closet everyday and see your team jerseys, sweatshirts, and old school Zubaz pants.  You wish you had somewhere to respectfully store these items away until next season, when perhaps the pain and taunting from your buddies has passed.  Thankfully, there is hope during your distress.

While casual fans are perfectly comfortable sporting their team’s gear year-round, the more passionate fan among us may have a tough time with the continually dredged up memories of this year’s late-season collapse or playoff beating.  If you truly need time to heal apart from your athletic apparel, you can conveniently and appropriately store your team gear until the next round of pre-season hype.  Of course, simply stacking your clothing in the basement or boxing it up only to find a wrinkled mess in a few months is unacceptable.  Show your team gear the respect it deserves by loading up a wardrobe box or two.

Wardrobe boxes are specifically designed for the easy transfer of your hanging clothes into these large, durable portable closets.  Wardrobe boxes are made for the long-haul, thanks to double wall construction and a heavy duty metal hanger bar.  These boxes are tough enough to handle any frustration related rough treatment, yet with keep your apparel safe and wrinkle free when you are ready to sport the colors again.

Your team apparel has been there with you in the best and worst times.  Treat it right during the offseason with large, durable wardrobe boxes.

Wardrobe Boxes for Your Sanity

Wardrobe Boxes

For folks who have been in their house or apartment for a long period of time, it can be frustrating and intimidating to stare at the cluttered mess that was once an organized closet or wardrobe. While the mess may nearly drive you mad, you may be reluctant to tackle the problem, figuring that the time and effort it will take is just too great. Fortunately, you don’t have to succumb to cluttered closets or wardrobes and you also don’t have to spend a bunch of time or money to fix it.

If only you had some method of long-term storage for outfits you won’t wear until winter, or maybe even those you plan to sell in your next rummage sale. You certainly can pile them away in moving boxes, which will eventually be pushed into the corner of the basement, never to be seen again. And, as readily available as those black garbage bags are, they just don’t seem to offer the type of wrinkle-free solution you are hoping for.

Enter the convenient and affordable wardrobe box. While good wardrobe boxes are strong enough and large enough for moving day, they also have the durability to meet your long-term storage needs. Heavy duty metal hanger bars and crush test ratings above industry standards make these portable closets a dream for the convenient and efficient storage of seasonal outfits or items you’d like to keep in “sellable” condition.

With the ease of use and affordability of wardrobe boxes, you will be able to regain not only your lost storage space and your sense of pride in your organizational ability, but also a healthy portion of the sanity you thought was buried forever beneath those piles in your closet.

Wardrobe Boxes – What Are Your Other Options?

Wardrobe Boxes

You may be the type of person who treats every new or speciality item with scepticism, preferring instead to use the equipment or tools you already have, even if they are not exactly suited for the task at hand.  No doubt some are prone to react this way to wardrobe boxes, given their unconventional shape and obvious specialization to a specific aspect of moving.  Let’s take a moment to consider your other options for moving a large quantity of clothing, specifically those items hanging in your closet.

Clothing has traditionally been one of the most cumbersome and space-consuming categories of items to move from one house to another.  It is also often overlooked when it comes to planning a move or lining up the necessary materials for a smooth and efficient move.  Often, hanging clothes are taken off the hanger, folded up, and packed according to type of season of clothing.  While this is a very organized approach, it can also quickly fill up the moving boxes you have at your disposal.  Your various clothing items can also shift quite a bit during your move, leaving you with a bit of a wrinkled mess when you open your boxes.

Another option is to pack up your moving boxes, load them into your vehicle or moving truck, then simply lay your hanging clothes on top.  This eliminates the need for extra boxes, while also preventing creasing and wrinkling during your move.  However, having attempted to employ this option a few times in the past, I can tell you with a high degree of certainty that these clothes will slide off your boxes at some point during your drive, once again leaving you with a wrinkled pile to sort through, while also picking up any dirt or grime from the floor of your moving truck.  Hanging them in your vehicle isn’t a real option either, since most cars only have room for a few hangers on those handy little plastic hooks.

Truthfully, the only wardrobe boxes anyone needs to be sceptical of are those that are not strong enough or large enough to suit your needs.  Wardrobe boxes that test stronger than the moving box industry standard, include heavy duty metal hanger bars, and are large enough to accomodate your needs are well worth the very affordable price you can find them for.  Utilizing a few wardrobe boxes can save you not only frustration on your arrival at your new home, but it can also save you time and stress during your move.

Wardrobe Boxes vs. The Clutter Monster

Wardrobe Boxes

All of us have fallen victim to it from time to time.  We often pretend that it won’t happen to us or try to ignore it when it does.  But, when the clutter monster does strike, it can often leave people feeling helpless and afraid to take it on.  Fortunately, if (when) the clutter monster hits your closet, you do not have to sit idly by and watch it take over your space.  Simply call wardrobe boxes to the rescue and reclaim your closet, your storage space, and your sanity.

These sort of things tend to start small.  You stack a few seasonal or seldom-worn outfits in the corner of your closet, figuring you don’t need the space anyway.  Before you know it, the clutter monster has taken over more and more of your storage space every day.  Having to stare at or dig through a mountain of closet clutter is a terrible way to start any day.  Fortunately, you can regain control with the right wardrobe boxes.

Wardrobe boxes are designed for easy transfer of hanging clothing for moving or long-term storage.  The best of these boxes feature heavy duty construction, durable metal hanging bars, and are large enough to accomodate a significant portion of your closet clutter.  An added bonus is the durability of these boxes, which allows you to store seasonal clothing until it is needed, without any need for repeated unpacking or re-packing.

Reclaim your once clean and organized closet space with durable, convenient wardrobe boxes.  The clutter monster will never know what hit it when you show up with a few wardrobe boxes and take back your lost storage space.
